I have sat down a couple of times to get caught up in the blogging world, but have been to busy to even write. I can tell that probably until March sometime I am going to be pretty behind on my blog. I am trying my best to keep notes on things important to me to blog about. I am also sooo behind on reading all of your blogs. I am sorry that I have been such a bad commenter lately too. I take great pride in myself for being a good commenter. I know all of us bloggers love receiving comments, so in my opinion, to receive comments one must GIVE comments. I apologize to all my dear faithful friend bloggers!
Ok, on another note....Matt and I had a successful trip to San Antonio 2 weeks ago. I say successful because learning the area and learning the market there was a success....HOWEVER, we did leave there very disappointed. Let's just say, San Antonio is a few steps behind Austin in being VERY over priced. Matt and I were all pumped to go and "buy us a house" in SA. We made money on our FW house so we were over confident since we have money to actually put down on a house. We figured out real quick that we were not going to find our FW house in San Antonio. Most people there are buying new homes in new neighborhoods. So we left San Antonio with our minds made up that we were going to build a house that would be ready for us this summer. We were all excited and ready to go. So the paper work for us to fill out and send in along with our deposit was supposed to be sent to us just a few days after we left SA. Well, it took longer than expected and the longer it took the more I started doubting that decision. SOOO, I started looking again online and found a couple of houses that I wanted to see. Matt flew me out on Wednesday for the day. It was exhausting but well worth it. Again, I just gained more knowledge on where exactly I want us to be. I found more neighborhoods that I really love. So Matt and I are flying out Tuesday for the entire day. I feel that we have narrowed down our search and feel confident that we can leave Tuesday with our minds made up, and an offer on a house.
We had our house inspected last week. The couple buying our house did not want us to do ONE thing to our house. Isn't that great?! Selling our house has really been easy so far. What a blessing!!! We will be officially homeless Feb. 15th. We close that day and have to be out of our house at the end of that day. Luckily Wells Fargo is paying people to come PACK us, LOAD our stuff, and MOVE us. That's one stress I don't have to have! I am not sure what we are going to do in the "in between time". Matt starts in SA the following week after we move out of here. Wells Fargo is putting him up in a hotel until we have a place to actually move into. So I am not sure if the kids and I will go with him and stay in a hotel, or if we'll just "float" around until our house is ready....if there even is a house. I'm trying to not worry and stay calm, and just hope and pray that there is a house waiting for us......So that's that, and a catch-up in a nutshell. Prayers over our move to San Antonio would be so greatly appreciated.
On another note.... on to my 2 most favorite people to write about!!
My big boy Hud: On Monday he turned 2 and 1/2! So I woke up that morning and decided that today was the day for him to start wearing underwear. He has done so amazing! He has been in underwear ALL week long and had only 1 accident. He is pooping and tee teeing in the potty like he has been doing it all along. He loves his new Elmo, Wiggles, Thomas the Train, and Cars Underwear. He is really so proud of himself, and we are too! Today was the BIG turning point because he actually TOLD ME he had to go tee tee, and then later he TOLD me he had to go poo poo! I was elated because all week I have been reminding him to go. This has been a HUGE week for our Big Boy Hudman! We also have gone and run errands in his undies as well as out to eat and no accidents. He also is taking naps in his underwear too! Last night the 4 of us went and celebrated at Chuck E Cheese. It was fun and Hudson is so excited to be a big boy like his cousin Walker! (Jason and Shelley, he wanted us to drive by yesterday to show Walker his underwear). We'll have to come by soon! After Christmas when we knew we were for sure moving, Matt and I decided to pull Hudson out of school. For one we need all of our days free to be able to get everything done that we need to. And second...I am SICK of all the germs infesting my house. Everything Harper caught was from her big brother bring those school germs home. I hope we will all stay healthy. I plan on finding Hudson another 2 day a week school once we move to San Antonio. We loved Ark School so much. It was a great place to be and Hudson did great there! We'll miss it!
Onto my little sweetness Harper. First of all, I have to say that while we were in SA 2 weeks ago she was the biggest trooper ever. I was so proud of her. She was pretty much in her car seat for 2 days straight. I guess she knew it was important for her to be good while we searched for her future home. She flew in the plane perfect and was a happy camper the entire trip. What a baby! She turned 6 months old on the 5th. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. She is just a doll and is such a happy girl. Her 6 mo check up was yesterday. 5 SHOTS! She did great. She is in the 75th percentile across the board. She weighed in at 16lbs 12 oz, and 26 and 1/2 inches long. Our little growing girl! We were so sad to tell our sweet pediatrician goodbye. (hopefully we wont have to pay her a visit between now and when we leave). Dr. Stdatler has been such a wonderful doctor and we have all grown to love her so much. She actually teared up telling us bye and hugging us yesterday. We'll miss her a lot! These days Harper is on ALL baby foods and different cereals. I am still breast feeding her, but am in the "is it time for me to quit" phase. I am so torn on what to do. Life is just so crazy these days and it is so hard for me to have her with me at all times. And it's such a pain to "pump and dump" when I am gone. I have supplemented with her since she was born just so she would take a bottle when I was away....you live and learn after your first child. She has always done great with a bottle and formula. I think I am just emotionally connected and hate to stop. BUT I remember feeling that way after 10 months with Hud and once I quit it was like, "PRAISE THE LORD I'M FREE!!!" So, we'll see what I decide to do!
She is also sitting up like a pro, talking to us all the time, and smiles nonstop. Her bottom 2 teeth came in in Dec and she CHOMPS on everything....and I mean EVERYTHING....reason number 2-100 why I want to quit breast-feeding. OUCH!
I am so proud of my 2 kids. They are both at such a great age and I really would freeze time if I could. Life's so fun with them. I am trying to soak them up because I know with everything that is ahead it's going to be summer and they will be turning 1 and 3 when we wake up from everything!
I hope all my faithful readers and faithful stalkers(btw I'd like to know who you are) are doing great! I hope to be back in some sort of good blogging routine (writing mine and reading yours) real soon!!!
So onto the pictures from my previous post. Ummm, I have no clue what happened to all 9 million of them. So here are a few new ones of Harper that I just love, and some from the previous post that I love too. Someday when I am not busy...yeah right....I will try and go back and redo ALL of those that I lost. Just to have it here for memories sake! Hope you enjoyed the pics of my 2 precious babies!
It was SO good to see a new post from you! YAY is all I can say to that!

Hi Allison-
ReplyDeleteI'm a friend of Kelly.
I see you're moving to SA.
I live there, out west.
We bought a new house in a new subdivision (DR Horton Red Bird Ranch).
Not sure where you're needing to live (i.e. work, etc)
Hopefully, if you're close, we can meet and play.
Nice to meet you!
Lindsay

Your kids are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I know you will find a house that you love. 3 months from now you will be thinking of this time as an adventure! So enjoy. :) Easy for me to say, huh? I am SO jealous of the potty training. We are so not there yet with Jude. I am SO proud of him!! We have the cars underwear too. Maybe we'll try again this week. Hudson can be my inspiration. :) Love ya'll!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pics, Girl!
ReplyDeleteWow! Aunt Karen has told me about the house hunting, but not potty training, teeth or Harper sitting up. They are growing so fast.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE all the pictures. They are just so darn CUTE!!! Like I have said before Hud looks more and more like Matt and Harper looks more and more like you.
We love and miss you all.
I'm so glad you posted. Oh my goodness I need to see those kiddos. Lets get together soon. They are just getting so big and more beautiful all the time. I can't believe Hudson is potty trained. It just seems like yesterday he was born.
ReplyDeleteAmazing
Glad you posted. Those pics of Harper are too cute for words!!! Take your time with the house-hunting, do not rush into anything and the right one will come around. I think you should just live in Austin and Matt can commute everyday! :) Yay for Hud and using the potty, I can not get over how old he is.
ReplyDeleteYou should live in the Alamo. It has a great historic feel to it.
ReplyDeleteI loved your pictures! Who took them? The first picture of Hudson is priceless and looks like it is straight out of magazine? Good luck with the house hunting in SA.
ReplyDeleteallyO
I love all of the pictures! They are all precious, and your photographer does a great job! Harper is getting so big!
ReplyDeleteGood luck house-hunting! I know it can be stressful especially when you have to do it in such short time frames. You will find a great house though, I am sure of it. Boone's aunt and uncle live in SA. I can't remember the name of their subdivision, but it is all new houses. Their old subdivision was nice, too. It was more older, nicer houses and not brand new. I can ask Boone what the name of it is, so maybe you can look there? It may be less expensive than a brand new house.
Way to go for Hudson going in the potty! I really need to get on the ball and start potty training Jackson. Was it easy to train Hudson?
A few people asked already, but I want to know too!! Who took the pictures of Harper? They are adorable! I hope house hunting goes well! And I am sooo jealous of the potty training! I think Hudson needs to talk to Kennan!!!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to leave a comment and repeat & agree with what everyone before me has said about your adorable kiddos, and especially agree with Jason's comment on the Alamo. ha ha! Seriously, I will be praying yall find something soon! Take care with all the traveling!
ReplyDeleteAllison-
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through someone else's at ACU and I just wanted to write and tell you how cute your little ones are! How exciting that you are moving to SA too! My husband and I both grew up there and our hearts are still there. We visit every chance we get because we love it so much! Can't wait to hear about your adventures in the Alamo City. Best of luck! ~Brittany Skloss~
