Back in October when I was shopping for "My Big Giveaway" gifts I was in one of my favorite little shops here in SA, Moon Mippy . While I was shopping there I came across "the ELF on the SHELF." It is a box that comes with a miniature elf and a storybook. It is a new tradition that we have started over here at The Mullins household. It is such a fun, cute, and very creative idea. What it is exactly is (and I am quoting the box here), "The sole responsibility of the ELF is to watch the children's behavior and report it Santa every night." "The next morning after the children wake up, they discover that the ELF has returned from the North Pole and was now resting in a new and different place." We opened the box after we got home from our Thanksgiving break. Hudson was SO excited because we have been talking about opening it for a couple of weeks now. When you read the book for the first time it instructs you to name your ELF. Hudson immediately came up with Jack the ELF. I thought it was a perfect name for our ELF. He looks like a Jack, I think. Jack hangs out on our mantle everyday and takes good notes to Santa every night. It has been so fun finding Jack each morning. Hudson can hardly wait to see where he landed. He has been telling Jack secrets too about what he wants for Christmas. I also caught him telling Jack today that Harper was throwing a lot of fits lately and that she probably won't get a baby doll. The stinker!!! Soooo meet our latest holiday tradition, the Mullins Elf, Jack!! Here are a few places Jack has been lately!
Hanging out in our pantry.
I love the ELF. I think I will look for one to share with our children some day- what a fun tradition!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to have to borrow that idea when I have kids!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the elf.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get your Santa's treats plate? I have been looking for one of those everywhere. :)
I bought an ELF last year and am so sad that I am not home to use it! I also love the Santa's treats plate. Please post where you got it.
ReplyDeleteWe have only been in SA on and off. We probably won't be back until sometime around the 18th. Will you be available to hang out?
I love Jack - too cute! Love the new blog look, too.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is such a cute & fun idea! I love it!! I love all of your Christmas decorations, too! Check out my blog! What are the odds???
ReplyDeleteMy friend is going to make it and have it to me by Monday!! I'll mail it asap so that Harper can wear it a few times before Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteHey Allison, I love the new blog look! Y'all are really having some fun with Jack. That's all Hudson could talk about on the phone the other day. He asked me what color my elf was. Too cute!! I told him that when y'all came for Christmas to be sure and bring his elf. Y'all take care and we love y'all. Shelley
ReplyDeleteHey, I just talked to my friend who is making Harper's shirt. She asked me if you would rather have a Christmas tree shirt (something similar to Natalie's) or a custom shirt w/ 3 little crosses on it made of various fabrics. Because it's only 2 weeks 'til Christmas, she said you might rather have the cross shirt. Let me know soon! Sorry -- she just called me and was out of town!!
ReplyDeleteUm LOVE your Christmas decorations and your cute elf! Your kids are beautiful!!!
