Last night we loaded up and headed to La Cantera to see Santa. Hudson could hardly even stand it he was so excited. It was a perfect, cool night and we enjoyed walking around, hearing the Christmas music, and looking at all the holiday decorations. Once we got to Santa we caught him seconds before his break and they let us just walk up and see him really fast. SO NO LINE! What a beautiful thing! Hudson plopped right in his lap and Harper FREAKED OUT! So this year we have a family picture with Santa. We even took Jack for a little Santa reunion. Hudson asked for the BIIIIIG Pirate ship, and told him that Harper wanted a new baby doll. Hudson has been talking about this pirate ship since mid October. What a sight that will be Christmas morning. I can hardly wait! Afterwards we went out for yummy Mexican food. We came home put the kids to bed and watched a movie. It was a perfect night. Just what I needed. We haven't had a weekend alone together since mid Novemeber. It has been a really hard week emotionally. It's so hard when people you love hurt. I was reminded in the midst of all that is going on that Jesus really is the 'reason for the season'. All season's in our life. Without him we are hopeless and there is no real joy. I'm thankful for that reminder!! So this blog entry would not be complete without a trip down memory lane......
This one will always be a favorite of mine. I LOVED this Santa (at Willowbend mall in Plano, so GO if you live near there). Hudson was just precious that day. I LOVE this picture!!
This one was in downtown FW. You donate money and then you can take your own pictures with Santa. It was such a fun night because we saw Santa, enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere, and had a yummy dinner downtown together.
Now this Santa was not a fav of mine. He looks totally creepy. But hey, I was still getting used to this whole 2 kids thing, so I'm proud I got it done. But don't waste your time going to the Hulen mall to see this Santa. Downtown FW is WAAAY better!! It's still a sweet picture to me in the end. Just having the 2 of them with Santa is sweet to me!!
Love you and your sweet family. Looking forward to talking again soon
