- Friday night we went to a great restaurant for happy hour and appetizers. OH.MY.GOODNESS I will be working it off 3 weeks from now. Our appetizer was FRIED avocado slices with lump crab on top. To die for! Afterwards we shopped at La Cantera, I got my hair cut, and we went to the late movie. We saw State of Play. It was actually really good. One of those movies where you are trying to figure it out till the last minute. We enjoyed it. Especially since we have not been to a movie since Christmas. Always a treat!!
- Saturday was the BIG day. I booked us a night at The Westin La Cantera which deserves every single bit of those 5 stars. If you ever want to do San Antonio right then splurge and stay there. It is family friendly and FABULOUS! The entire time we were there I kept saying 'we are seriously 15 minutes from home.' It was so weird to be so close to home, but feel like you are on a vacation. Several friends around here have said it's a must and it did not disappoint. It was every bit as fun as it was romantic. We loved it!
- We left on Saturday afternoon and went to Fiesta Texas. Since we always have the kids with us we never ride any roller coasters. We rode them all and left dizzy with a headache. Does that mean we are getting old??? Oh, but it was so fun and there was hardly a wait which is always nice.
- We then went back to the Westin and got all showered and dressed up for dinner. We ate at a restaurant at the Westin. It was soooo ROMANTIC and so beautiful. We were there 2 hours and enjoyed it from start to finish. The menu was crazy, weird like Top Chef or something, but we LOVED it. We would go back again and again. They even brought out this little bite of something (it has a name, but I forgot) to "entice our palate". We were enticed! HA!
- Sunday we spent the day out by the "21 and over" pool. It was a beautiful day...not a cloud in the sky. We are pool/beach bums, so it is easy to make us happy. We got home by 4 and then spent the rest of the day with everyone.
To sum it up it was a jam-packed, fun-filled weekend...but completely romantic! We had a blast. We are so thankful that Karen, Melissa, and Lauren came too! Without them we could not have had our weekend alone together. I feel spoiled because, in my eyes, Matt has absolutely hung the moon. I am so humbled that he is my husband. It felt so good to spoil him completely!
Happy Birthday Matt! I think we started a new Birthday tradition! I love you!
