2 reasons why I love July!

For the last 6 years July has been such a special month to me. 4 of the last 6 years I have been a mommy which brings an entirely new and very sentimental feeling this time each year. I can remember vividly to 4 years ago being miserably swollen pregnant sooo ready to hold my baby boy. And then there is 2 years ago being filled with mixed emotions of "how can my baby boy be turning 2!?!, and then being filled with this indescribable excitement of knowing that 'any day now' we would have a baby girl added to our family." I love being a mommy. I love the name, I love the responsibility, I love the privilege of being Hudson and Harper's mommy. They truly bring Matt and I so much joy, but, at the same time, inspire us to be better people. I pray so hard every day that we point our children to Jesus. I pray that their little hearts love Him as a child. I pray, even though we fail all the time at this whole 'parenting' thing, that Hudson and Harper see Jesus in the way that we love them.

I definitely have my difficult days where I would love nothing more than to be able to 'call in sick' or just pull all my hair out. I do have those moments where I need to go and take a 'mommy time out' otherwise I might just 'react' out of my frustration....but in all honesty, there is never a day when I am not excited to see those sweet faces first thing in the morning, or greet them after their nap. I miss them like crazy when I do have my much needed time to myself. I truly believe being a parent is the hardest job there ever was, but there is no doubt it is the most rewarding. These last 4 years have just flown by so fast....I say it all the time, but 'slow down time!!!"

The 2 of them will never know how much they have changed our lives for the better. I love seeing our family light up with delight because of Hudson and Harper. I am so thankful for these precious 2 lives, and I am proud to be their mother.

So as I reminisce over these last 4 years, I wanted to share with you 2 of the reasons why July is so special to me.

What a precious stroll down memory lane. It's hard to believe that 4 years have gone by. I can't imagine our lives without our Hudson and Harper, they have brought immeasurable joy to all of our lives. I thank God each and every day for them and thank Him also for their Godly parents that show them Jesus each day. I love you all and feel so blessed.

  2. I always love the way you put your feelings into words. I cried, laughed, cried...precious, precious memories! We are so blessed to have Hudson and Harper. They are so blessed to have you and Matt as Christian parents who show them God's love through example, discipline, and loving instruction...and you are fun!

We want time to stand still, but we also can't wait to see what the future holds.

We love you all so much,
    Mini and Papa
