Saturday morning before 6 both of my boys left to go dove hunting. This was Hudson's first time to ever go hunting and he was SO excited. Matt was thrilled to take him too. I think dads who have little boys just dream of these type of outings. Hudson the night before got all of his camo laid out ready to go. The day before Matt bought Hudson a fake shotgun at W@lmart for him to take on their hunting trip. I was less than fond of this gun mainly because it looks real and even makes the sounds of a gun being fired. I am not a fan of guns and weapons period, but Matt has the John Eldridge
Wild at Heart mentality. And while I agree with letting a boy be a boy, get dirty, go hunting...etc, we came to the agreement that Hud's gun will be put up just like Matt's is put up when we are home. Hudson was just fine with 'locking' up his gun like daddy does. I just had this fear of Hudson falling in love with this massive gun and start running around pretending to shoot everything in sight. (an overreaction, I know). They ended up having a great time with some 'manly' bonding. Believe it or not, this hotel snob, is very excited about our family Colorado camping trip in June. I think the kids will have the best time, and I am excited for us to experience it together.
In other news the Mullins 4 have been SICK! We have a virus in our home that has taken over our lives. This is the first time that ALL of us have been sick at the same time. It has been a LOOONG week, but I feel we will be better by the end of the weekend. I am exhausted just being sick and taking care of everyone. Life goes on here whether you are sick or well. It's been tough. My house looks like we have been robbed...ok not that bad, but you get the picture. I am dying to clean it (in my mind), but I just feel like every free minute I get I want to spend it on the sofa horizontal. It's weeks like these that I wish we did not live so far away from family.
We are looking forward to Halloween week next week! Lot's of fun things planned. Hopefully we'll all be 100% soon!!
SOOOO CUTE! I love it! Nice gun, Mr. Hudson! I laughed out loud when you referred to yourself as a hotel snob! Ha! I am right there with ya! Will be anxious to hear how this June camping trip goes...I'm sure there's one of those in my near future, too, having 2 boys. I guess Jolee Kate and I will have to make sure there's a mall close enough by! Hope yall are great. And hope you are feeling 100% better soon, too!

ReplyDeleteWow...that gun of Hudson's looks so big and real...and that it is locked up with his Daddy's gun. He is so much like Matt, laying out his clothes the night before! It looks like they had some fun "manly" time together. We can't wait to introduce camping to you next summer...it will be fun!
