Summer Swim Lessons

Ms. Markay with the little fishies

I have been meaning to write about the kid's swim lessons this summer that happened back in JUNE, but summer and blogging just has not been my thing unfortunately.  I love to keep each 'milestone' documented on my blog, so bear with me as we back track a moment.  We spent a small fortune on swim lessons this summer, but it was sooo worth it!! I am amazed with the transformation both Hudson and Harper made.

We did group lessons at the end of May with friends just to get the kids back in the water and prepare them for their private lessons the following month.  We used Ms. Markay last summer after being referred to her by a close friend of mine.  She is amazing, and I like to call her the "swim whisperer".  It's amazing what she can do.  She is so sweet and so loving, but she is TOUGH too.  She knows what the kids are capable of doing and expects nothing less.  She's off to work in the medical field, and I totally think she missed her calling as a teacher.  She's fantastic and has a huge GIFT!

We had 2 weeks T-F of 2 hour lessons (We paid for Hudson to have a double session, and it was SO WORTH IT!!)!!  At first I thought it was going to be a total beating because of the length of time, but it ended up being the highlight of our day for those 2 weeks.  Her backyard is a retreat.  I would move there tomorrow if we could.  HA!  We took our lunch each day and just hung out by the pool.

The kids transformed into these amazing swimmers immediately.  Hudson is so good with his arms and coming up for breaths.  He can swim the entire length of the pool without a problem.  And Ms. Harper-poo...OH MY did she shock her mama (daddy too).  This little girl is fearless and a TOTAL FISH in the water.  She blew me away, and still does.  She has NO interest in floaties anymore because she is a "BIG GIRL."  (she is so into the whole BIG GIRL thing right now).

Maybe this can give you a glimpse into the goofy girl she is.  HA!
I am so proud of them, and they proved to Matt that it IS worth the money.  :)  They have even improved even more since June.  I'm almost fearful to go to the pool because they say they don't need me, or Harper will tell me to go 'far far away' and she'll swim to me.  She can scare us silly.  In the end, it was an amazing summer of swimming. Hudson's confidence in the water was worth the money alone.

Here are 2 videos of the kiddos in action!
