The kids and I left last Sunday morning to spend the week in Tyler with my family. It was so great to get out of town for a few days. I said it before in another post, but this was our first time to leave in 6 months. We hated Matt couldn't join us, but we sure did enjoy our time away. (I think this is the last Spring Break that Matt doesn't take the full week off with us....he didn't like missing out on our fun). I was pretty nervous about the drive with Holton, but I have to say he did FANTASTIC going there and coming back. I am so thankful that he is a happy boy in the car. Hudson and Harper kept the movies going, so they were entertained. The traveling could not have gone better---
| The kids just weren't really feeling picture time. |
| Huddy, Harp, & Holt with their great-grandmother. |
| Camden is THE MOST beautiful baby boy. We all love him so so much! |
The grandparents were all ready to get their hands on these kiddos. Holton got to meet his great-grandmother, Suepa. I was so happy for her to finally get to see him.
| I'm telling you, if you are holding this sweetness you are KISSING him. He is PRE-CIOUS! |
| getting some energy OUT! |
| I love my sister---she loves to play. |
| It was a beautiful day. |
The weather was beautiful. Still had a chill in the air. One afternoon Suzanna and I went outside to let the kids run around. We put the babies on a blanket while everyone played. It was so relaxing! I don't get any phone service out at the lake. It really is kind of freeing to not have a clue what's in your e-mail or what people are doing on facebook. I leave my phone tucked in my purse for the entire time I am away. You don't really realize how obsessed you are with your phone until you don't have any service. I need to be better about not having it glued to my hand at all times.
| I never get tired of the sunsets there. |
| Going AGAIN to feed the ducks. The kids loved it. |
We rode this ATV around which was really fun. We took it down to the marina to feed the ducks. Hudson especially loved going for rides. I had fun driving it too!
| Dad has a gift with the babies. He could get Camden and Holton to sleep almost every time. |
| Harper and I have this game to see who can pucker up our lips the biggest to give the biggest kiss. |
| She always yells, "I'm the winner!!" :) |
| they love driving the boat. |
| Sheer JOY! |
| Alli and Amanda |
My college girlfriend and roomie for a year came to visit us from Fort Worth. I loved having Amanda there for a couple of days to catch up and spend time together. I think my 3 wore her out so much that she may never choose to have children. I guess you don't realize how nonstop your life is with kids until an outsider is exhausted just by watching you. HA!
We took the barge out one late afternoon. It was so nice. Hudson and Harper were DYING to get in the water. They are ready for some summer time tubing fun!
| Harper with her dinosaur and 2 dragons. I love it. |
We flat wore the kids OUT every day! They slept together in the game room/office. I would tuck them in bed and go get ready for bed myself and go in and check on them, and they would be O-U-T. I would not hear a peep.
| J getting some baby Holton love. |
| Right across the street from Kid's depot is where my Jimpa is buried. Hudson asked if he could go and see it. How could I say no??? Oh how he would have adored my children so! |
| Happy boy on St. Patrick's Day (and my daddy's birthday). |
| Cam and I were having some laughs together. |
One afternoon my mom treated the kids to a visit to Kid's Depot, lunch, ice cream, and the park. Oh my goodness they had so much fun. My sister played and climbed all up in those tunnels and slides. When we left Hudson said, "When I am a grown up, I will go and play there everyday." :) It was definitely a highlight of their week.
| enjoying the pretty afternoon when we got home. |
| This little man was WORN out when we got home. |
It was a wonderful Spring Break that went by far too fast. We were entertained and spoiled. I loved getting to hang out with my sister everyday, but mostly I loved seeing my nephew. He is 7 months now, has all kinds of teeth coming in, smiles ALL the time, and is on the verge of crawling at any moment. What a bright spot he is in my life.
Hudson and Harper did something fun everyday. They enjoyed one beautiful day at the zoo too. We celebrated my dad's birthday on St. Patty's day. My dad cooked out every night which is worth the drive in it's self.
It was wonderful catching up with Amanda too!! We had 2 fun lunch dates---one kid free! :)
Matt was DYING for us to get home. He was waiting in the driveway for us to arrive. He thought Holton had completely grown up while we were away. HA! (he does change every day).
We'll be back in Tyler in a month for Melissa and Brandon's wedding. YAY! We are excited!!
I am so glad you guys had a wonderful Spring Break!!! I loved all of the pictures. I can only imagine how exhausted an outsider would feel in your life. I don't know how you possibly get enough sleep or have enough energy to keep up!!! I know you are enjoying every single minute!
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like such a wonderful week. Glad you enjoyed your time with family! I bet it was so nice to be back with Matt, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI had a blast with my bestie!! I tell you... You really are SHE-WOMAN!! I was definitely worn out, but it couldn't have been a better fatigue!! Your sweet children light up the lives of everyone around them (even if Mr. Holton was fussy ;-)!! Holton is so sweet; Harper is truly a beauty & very charming; and Hudson, (what can I say) I loved him 1st!! He had me by the heartstrings when he stood by the car not wanting me to go... Thanks for letting me join in on the fun, but thanks most of all for nourishing our friendship!! I KNOW IT WILL LAST A LIFETIME!!! ~All my love~Amanda
