Baseball Camp & the zoo

Hudson had baseball camp at UTSA this week.  Just like the rest of the country it is H-O-T here in San Antonio...so I was a little worried about H-man playing baseball all morning in this heat from 8:30-12:30.  Hudson went to camp with his two best buds, James and Thomas.  They ended up having a blast.  I am so glad they did it and had each other.  Each day after camp Hud had rosie cheeks and was FILTHY.  The first thing he did was leave his cleats at the door and go straight to the shower.  He has been flat worn out everyday.  He's even been telling us this week when he was ready to go to bed.  It was a great week for our boys!

I really enjoyed my mornings with just Harper and Holton.  I tried my best to make it fun for Harper and do whatever she wanted.  One thing that Harper really wanted to do was go to the zoo.  She's been asking for SO long....and I figured this would be the perfect week to go.  Thankfully we got a good storm on Wednesday night that really cooled things off a bit.  The morning was so pleasant and not miserable (like I had originally thought it was going to be).  We took her friend Bethany with us and the girls had a blast.  Holton was just Holton---sweet as ever and along for the ride.

Probably my favorite part of our zoo trip was the crocodile.  It literally swam right up to the window where we were standing, and it was like it was staring right at us.  ABSOLUTELY creepy, but cool.  The girls loved it and sure told them that this was the closest they would EVER be to a live crocodile.  It was a fun day!

Hud starts kinder a month from tomorrow.  I have good moments and bad moments with this.  One night last week I woke up in the middle of the night with a heavy chest.  I can't explain how it felt.  All I could think about was that first day when I have to actually leave him at school.  All I do in those moments is stop and pray for Hudson and his teacher.  I am so confident that he is ready, but my goodness, I'm a wreck.

We have a lot of fun planned for the summer still.  We will go visit my family for my Cammy-poo's 1st BIRTHDAY!  (can't believe it).  We also have a weekend booked for our family STAYcation at the JW Marriott here in San Antonio.  I cannot wait for this.  It's going to be wonderful.

That's about all that's been happening here.  I leave you with my Holton and my goofy girl all dressed up this morning.  Oh how there is never a dull moment with Ms Harper Faith.

  1. I've enjoyed reading your blog for a long time, Allison. Your kids are adorable and have gotten so big! I completely understand your feelings about your oldest going to kindergarten. It is difficult, isn't it? I remember literally sitting on the bottom shelf in the school supply aisle in Target and bawling my eyes out while my daughter was asking me what was wrong, lol. But I can tell you it is AMAZING to watch them enjoy going to school and participating in so many fun activities and telling you what they have learned. My oldest is now a Senior in high school, and the time has FLOWN by. Enjoy every moment, and continue taking lots and lots of pictures!

I love those pictures of the Little Roadrunners! They are so cute! I know it is so hot! That was Jason's 4th camp this summer, he is out in the heat ALL DAY, EVERYDAY! He has one more camp to go. He has been gone most of the summer recruiting. I will be glad when August gets here, we will have about 2 weeks with him until schools starts. We miss him so much!
