Catching up!!

The kids and I spent the last week in Norman, OK visiting Matt's family.  We had not been there in SO long, so needless to say it was an overdue visit.  Matt's extended family from MS came for the week too.  It was A LOT of people under one roof.  The kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins.  Everyone played outside in the kiddie pool, fished, went to the movies, swam next door, went to Chuck-E-Cheese, and the OKC Children's Museum (which is one of the best that I have ever been to).  It was a great week, and we came home exhausted.  I did not get near the pictures I wish I had of everyone we were with.  I hate when that happens.

Here are the highlights of July so far--

  • LOT'S of BIRTHDAY CELEBRATING!!!

Harper wanted BUG cupcakes, and Mini delivered!

Harper the morning of her birthday.
Hudson is all about the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie that is out.

HUD'S party was the following weekend.  This guy had a great party!

  • We had a fun 4th of July.  The kids swam and played outside most of the day.

Harper and Reese

Hudson and Harper can get the best smiles out of their brother.
  • The OKC Children's Museum.  I can't wait to go back!!

Micah, Kyleigh, Harper, and Hudson

Even Holton loved the museum.

April---the photographer!
  •  We had a lot of good family time.
had fun seeing mini and papa's new Colorado toy.

    • Had some fun at the neighbor's pool.
I adore my husband the big kid!

    •  Had a great time fishing!

Matt was with us part of the time we were in Oklahoma.  He drove there with us and then flew home to work a few days, and then flew back so he could do the drive back home with us.  I was so glad he was able to be there with us.  It just doesn't feel right when he's away.

Hudson had a few accidental flops while we were in OK.  Two things he really wanted to do was to go and see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie and have a P of C birthday cake.  Both of my kids are ALL about their cakes and theme.  It's just a really big deal to them.  Friday they were all geared up and ready to go see the movie and low and behold IT WAS NO LONGER SHOWING.  Poor guy was sooo sad about it because we had promised that we would take him.  Then his birthday cake file was misplaced and he did not get a P of C cake.  Even tho Hudson was disappointed, he rolled with it and still had a great time!  Needless to say when we came home from Norman, we HAD to deliver.  HA!

I absolutely LOVE this picture for so many reasons.  One is that Matt made the extra effort to leave early from work this week so that he could meet Hudson at the movie theater to see Pirates of the Caribbean.  When I told Hudson daddy was taking him to the movie, Hud immediately went upstairs and got dressed in his pirate t-shirt.  He was READY.  But what made Hudson's day was when his daddy pulled up and was also dressed in his pirate t-shirt and not his work clothes.  Matt had packed a change of clothes just for the occasion.  I wish you could have seen Hudson's face.  So my 2 guys spent the afternoon eating popcorn, slipping Slurpee's, and eating candy while watching Pirates of the Caribbean---and both came home with a tummy ache.  HA!  Hudson said that the movie was AWESOME--his most favorite of all!

I got all teary-eyed when I took this picture of them because it means so much to me that Matt made every effort to take Hudson to the movie.  It may seem small, but it was such a big deal in Hudson's world.  And not only that, but that Matt knew Hudson would be dressed in his Pirate's t-shirt, so he made sure he was wearing the same thing.  Matt could careless how dorky he can look....and I sure love that about him!!  It was a special day for them.

---oh and we DID get a P of the C cake for Hudson's real bday, so everything worked out just fine, and we had a very happy BIRTHDAY BOY!

And no post would be complete without a few pictures of my little man.  He is too scrumptious for WORDS!
