Easter 2012

We had the best Easter weekend.  We enjoyed so much being together and having a long, restful weekend.  The kids looked precious in their Easter clothes.  I love coordinating them anyways, so seeing them all dressed up together was extra cute.

We scaled back on the Easter gifts this year.  We have been guilty of Easter becoming a 2nd cousin to Christmas morning, and it was getting out of hand.  I just don't want Easter in their minds to be 'all about them.'  I felt so convicted over that in years past and especially lately.  I want the focus of Easter to be on the REAL meaning and not a Bunny.  Matt had a discussion with the kids about the Easter Bunny not being real, but just a fun game we play.  Easter was becoming more about a bunny and little about Jesus, and something was really wrong with that picture.  We talked about what we as a family are celebrating and how important Easter weekend is.  I was expecting an reaction out of the kids, but they did not miss a beat and seemed to careless that the EB wasn't real.  Needless to say it was a good conversation and we had a blast all weekend long.

My heart could just burst with how much I love those sweet faces.

A trip down memory lane.  It seriously pains my heart seeing how fast they have grown.  Especially from last year to now.

Harp all ready to go hunt some eggs.

Holty just watched.

Hudson and Harper were sooooo competitive hunting for those eggs.  It was pretty hilarious watching them go!!  That egg hunt was over in no time at all.

  2. I just love all the pictures...your kiddos are so precious! And good for y'all on the Easter thing...cause we feel the same way lately, too...feel like we have made more out of what they will get, and all the candy and festivities, instead of celebrating the fact that Jesus ROSE from the dead! The boys really "got it" a lot more this year, which was nice...and I liked all of the questions that were asked, etc. Anyhow, so I am glad to know that we were not the only ones changing things up. :) And I just have to say I laughed at the comment "2nd cousin to Christmas" cause I COMPLETELY know what you mean! :)
Love you friend. Can't wait to see all 4 of your kiddos next year at Easter. ;)
