All ready to go! Waiting on our turn to go in.
We bought 3 extra bags (1 was given to us) of food for our trip through the "wilderness". Harper was THRILLED when she found out what we were doing. She made up a song singing, "I love animals, they are all God's creation." She was bouncing off the walls. When we bought our tickets to get in Harper shouted to the lady, "I LOVE ANIMALS."
The zebras were kind of scary. They knew the cars had food and had no problem coming right up to us to check it out. Notice Matt rolling up his window. He wasn't big on the zebras.
Our girl loving life....for the moment.
One zebra came right up to Harper and stuck his head in and stole her food. She kind of freaked out, but thankfully we had an extra bag. Off we continued on the adventure....
The ostriches was the funniest part of the entire trip. Those scary animals come right on up to the car. You can see from the first picture Harper and the ostrich checking each other out. Then the ostrich moves in a little closer and Harper is getting nervous. Then that sucker sticks his LONG neck in our car and steals her brand new big bag of food. You can see her reaction from the last picture. Her feelings were so hurt and she cried her eyes out. Hudson and I witnessed the entire thing and I seriously thought I was going to throw up from laughing so hard. It was just so funny since moments before she was singing about how much she loved animals and they are God's creation...then they scare and rob her. Not once but twice. Poor thing---thankfully we had 1 extra back up, but that was IT. Holton loved it too. He was squealing the entire time just pointing away at all of the animals. Hudson was scared and would jump from one side of the car to the other. When we were leaving he said he never knew zebras and ostriches were such scary animals. HA!
When we finished our safari we went to the petting zoo part of it. The kids loved it. We walked around for a bit more and let them have an icee. Holton was SO cute tottering around pointing at everything he saw. We had the best time and will definitely go again. When we were leaving they were already asking when we could go back. It was the perfect morning that kicked off our long Easter weekend.

Looks like ya'll had a great time. The pics with Harp and the zebra's are just priceless.
ReplyDeleteLove my Mullins's 6!
What fun...can't believe we have never done that! We are still laughing at those animals and Harper...bless her heart! So glad they got some redemption at the petting zoo. Holton...priceless!
